““Because the poor are plundered, because the needy groan, I will now arise,” says the Lord; “I will place him in the safety for which he longs.” The words of the Lord are pure words, like silver refined in a furnace on the ground, purified seven times.” (Psalm 12:5–6, ESV)
The Lord promises deliverance to those poor and needy who are plundered and groan and long for safety. And the Lord’s words are pure. There is no guile or half-hearted, double-minded promises with the Lord. Like perfectly purified silver, his words are pure!
Because there is injustice in the world, we can be certain, that is, we can have faith that the Lord will arise and deliver the oppressed. We have his Word on it! And his pure Word was himself!
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” (John 1:1–5, ESV)
“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.” (John 1:14, ESV)
Let us think on these things…
