“I love you, O Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised, and I am saved from my enemies.” -Psalm 18:1–3
Having recounted his love for the Lord who has repeatedly saved him from his enemies, David is compelled to call upon the Lord once again to save him. The Lord’s faithfulness, lovingkindness, and constancy reminds David he is worthy to be praised.
Our own exhortation is simple. Count your blessings, name them one by one. Count your many blessings, see what God has done. He is worthy to be praised who has and who will continue to save us from our enemy. Praise ye the Lord!
