“Who shall bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies.” -Romans 8:33
There is above all others only one court in which we must all stand, the high tribunal of the creator, God. And what more consolation could we receive in this life than knowing that God is favorable toward us already. He has justified us by imputing to us the righteousness of Christ while accounting to him all charges brought against us, the elect of God.
When the accuser of the brethren (Revelation 12:10) or even our own consciences attempt to condemn us, it is God’s absolution of our sins that will answer. There is no appellate or Supreme Court higher than this court to which our accusers can appeal. It is the foremost confidence of the believer to be persuaded of this glorious truth.
If we are in Christ, we can rest with great confidence in the certainty of this salvation. And if one is not in Christ, then by all means he or she need only repent and believe that they might receive the righteousness of God which is apart from the law and they will be justified in his sight.
