“for the Lord knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.” -Psalm 1:6
To catch the significance of the passage, definitions are in order. First, “the way” refers to one’s complete manner of life, including the thinking that shapes and directs it and the fruit such a life produces (see Psalm 1:1-3). Second, “knows” used here is not referring to mere information, but to care, association, intimacy, and identity.
The “ways” diverge here. One way leads to him; the other one with the “Danger! Road Out!” sign leads to ruin. And, there are no three ways about it.
