Though Shoeless

Scott Postma — June 6, 2020

Crumbs Logo“Do all things without grumbling or disputing, that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, holding fast to the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I may be proud that I did not run in vain or labor in vain.” (Philippians 2:14–16, ESV)

We grumble and fight because we are ungrateful; we are ungrateful because we’ve embraced that lie that we deserve more.

Remember the lines, “I cried because I had no shoes until I met a man who had no feet”?

The art of living is not to grumble or fight, but to live humble, though shoe-less, and shine like the light.

Here’s a thought: Make a list of everything that does not fit in the category of “all things.”

And today, only complain about those things.
