“All my bones shall say, “O Lord, who is like you, delivering the poor from him who is too strong for him, the poor and needy from him who robs him?”” -Psalm 35:10
“All my bones” is a metaphor for speaking about the completeness of one’s being, like someone saying, “I knew it in my bones.” There also seems to be an echo of Moses’ song of deliverance when the children of Israel were saved via the Red Sea in the wilderness.
““Who is like you, O Lord, among the gods? Who is like you, majestic in holiness, awesome in glorious deeds, doing wonders? You stretched out your right hand; the earth swallowed them. “You have led in your steadfast love the people whom you have redeemed; you have guided them by your strength to your holy abode.” -Exodus 15:11–13
David is rejoicing in the nature of the Lord; it’s just like him to deliver the poor man from the one who would take advantage by means of his strength. It’s the way he is, always delivering the needy and disadvantaged from the oppressive thief.
That’s our God!
