“From you comes my praise in the great congregation; my vows I will perform before those who fear him. The afflicted shall eat and be satisfied; those who seek him shall praise the Lord! May your hearts live forever!” -Psalm 22:25–26
Continuing in the theme of the votive feast, we see that these verses are connected in thought. As the afflicted is delivered and a vow performed in response to the answered prayer, others (the king’s guests) are blessed by the festive meal, and as it is suggested by some scholars, the expression, “May your hearts live forever!” is the reply of these guests who are the beneficiaries of the blessing.
Though the enemies of God seek to devour the children of God, the pious ones who are afflicted by the world will joyfully feast at the king’s table.
