“He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers.” –Psalm 1:3
Is there any more beautiful picture of blessedness than an abundance of delectable fruit produced at just the right time by a healthy tree that is free from drought and disease because its roots grow deep in the nutrient-rich soil and drink freely from the channels of living water?
Like the tree, the blessedness of a man’s life is largely dependent on the condition of his hidden life–where and how deeply his roots are planted, and from what kind of soil he draws his nutrients.
