“The Lord sits enthroned over the flood; the Lord sits enthroned as king forever. May the Lord give strength to his people! May the Lord bless his people with peace!” -Psalm 29:10–11
The storm which incited David to write this psalm of praise to the Lord appears to have included a flood. It’s also possible David is referencing the deluge of Noah’s day and that the storm reminded him of the time God used a flood to judge the world. In any case, The Lord is the Lord of everything, even the floods and storms. God’s power manifest in this way is demonstrable of his power to give strength to his people. This same power can also bring peace to his people.
The Lord is the ruler of the cosmos, and his throne is everlasting. Let us pray God to use his power to bless his people with strength and peace.
