In every generation there are wicked men who prowl on the poor and exalt vileness among “the children of man.” In our modern age we only look as far as Wall Street and Hollywood to find them. David heard an Oracle from the Lord (5-6) and believed the Lord’s Word.
Believers today are encouraged to do that same. We need not fear those who seem to be above the law and use their power and wealth to exploit the poor and needy and exalt their vileness. We have this confidence: You, O Lord, will keep your word and keep your people. If the Lord is our guard, who else do we need?
